Anatomy Day: Facial Muscles

Published on 7/18/2017

So, today I decided to share some of the behind the scenes sketches from my studio practice. Every now and then I go back to basics and revise human anatomy. I find it to be a very useful exercise as it helps in understanding the human face much better. I look at the skull, the facial planes and facial muscles. These sketches are slightly technical in their understanding but are the core to achieving the desired results in portraiture art. They help in understanding the angles, lighting and facial perspective very well. So, here are some of the sketches on Human Anatomy: Facial Muscles.
