Kokil is a London based artist. She started her training in figurative art at the age of 12. Born and raised in the Northern part of India, she spent her early years at a Prep school in Dehra Doon. Her time and experience there shaped and enhanced her creative practice. She trained and participated in a number of activities including classical music, fine art, creative writing, dance, drama and gymnastics.

After a few years of training in various art forms and mediums, she decided to focus on learning and mastering figurative art. To  further expand her knowledge and understanding of visual arts, she enrolled at the University of Westminster in London, to study Architectural Technology in 2005. During the second year of her study she started working on Architectural projects in the Education, Retail and Housing sector all over the U.K. whilst continuing to take part in other creative pursuits on the side.

In 2013, she decided to make a shift and focus solely on developing her own studio practice and hasn't looked back since. She uses art as a means to connect, disassemble as well as maintain clarity and simplicity in her life. She loves expressive art as it feels most natural to her, although she enjoys making figurative and narrative art as a way of sharing new stories, cultures, perspectives and people. She values her practice and the ability to see the world around her in a different light.

She currently lives and works in London for most part of the year but enjoys traveling around the world, working and studying alongside other talented artists, whilst exploring new ideas and techniques.
